Chavin Carved Bone Pendant
Ancient Pre-Columbian Bone Pendant, Chavin culture, ca. 200 B.C. Carved in the form of a seated transformational figure (part human, part jaguar, part monkey) showing oval eye inlaid with shell and stone, wide snout opened with fangs and tail wrapped around; appears to be holding a snake. Superb carved detailing with much original red pigment. 3"L x 5/8"W, appears intact, but professionally repaired from three pieces (invisible to the naked eye). Custom stand included.
